How do I use Moon Magic Serum?2022-11-07T16:41:44+01:00

Evening

After cleansing with the Soothing Cleansing Oil and applying Hydrating Essence, apply a few drops of Moon Magic Serum to your skin with a gentle pressing movement. Moon Magic Serum is to be used instead of Nourishing Beauty Oil or your traditional PM skincare product. You could also add a drop of Moon Magic Serum to the Nourishing Beauty Oil at night. Try to experience what works for you. If your skin reacts sensitively, it might be a suggestion to increase the amount of serum gradually (one drop at a time).

Moon Magic Serum ingredients

Why doesn’t this serum contain retinol?2022-11-07T16:42:36+01:00

It is not good for your skin. Your skin becomes, besides smoother and more even on the short term also thinner, more sensitive, more sensitive for photoaging. With a high risk for irritation and inflammation. That consequently could have other negative side effects on your skin (acne, impurities, rosacea, eczema, premature aging).

Which ingredients are in Moon Magic Serum?2022-11-07T16:42:36+01:00
Bakuchiol

The STAR ingredient of Moon Magic Serum, with maximum dosage of 1%. Several scientific studies have proven that the effects of Bakuchiol can be compared to those of traditional retinol: stimulating collagen and elastin production, decreasing the natural break down of collagen and elastin, and promoting a healthy mitosis. Also famous are the anti-acne properties. Anti-aging plus anti-acne in one plant-based ingredient! However, where retinol can also bring about harmful side effects, Bakuchiol is the completely safe alternative: only benefits, not the burdens. Loïs Lee uses Bakuchiol (Sytenol A) in the highest possible dosage.

Other highlights

  • Oat lipids: gluten free ceramides reinforce the natural barrier of the skin and safeguard its moisture balance;
  • Gotu Kola (centella asiatica): healing and rejuvenating;
  • Blue Tansy: camomile essential oil, calming and anti-inflammatory;
  • Spilanthes acmella: “nature’s botox”;
  • Collagenere: plant peptides, boost collagen production and slow down collagen degradation;
  • Blackcurrant CO2 extract: rich in anti-oxidants, Vitamin C and omega fatty acids, softens and nourishes.
  • Cacay Oil: plant oil with the highest Vitamin A levels.

The other five ingredients also play an important part in this magical serum. Moon Magic Serum fully complies to the #nomoremeuk promise of course; Completely free of filling agents, fragrance and artificial colour additives, cheap ingredients that do not contribute to a healthy skin at all, preservatives, synthetic ingredients, perfume. 100% #nomoremeuk-proof!

What is the difference between Bakuchiol and Babchi?2022-11-07T16:42:36+01:00

Bakuchiol is the active ingredient from Babchi seeds that has the same effect as retinol (research based). The difference is that Babchi Oil (or extract) contains approximately 1-12% Bakuchiol and the Bakuchiol we use contains 99% Bakuchiol. Many other brands do indeed use Bakuchiol as well, but often the INCI (ingredient) list states Babchi Oil or Bakuchi or Psoralea Corylifolia. That is not the Bakuchiol that was used for the scientific research and it has, quite relevant as well, higher photosensitivity because of the large amounts of psoralens (compounds of the Babchi plant), so it can actually make skin more sensitive.

Do I need another serum in addition to the 3 Step Beauty Ritual?2022-11-07T16:43:24+01:00

The 3 Step Beauty Ritual is the base for a healthy skin and consists of Cleansing | Hydrating | Nourishing. Moon Magic Serum is an addition to this ritual, an extra (rich) formula your skin will benefit by. For the (more mature) skin that needs or wishes just a tad bit more.

What do I do with the empty bottles?2022-11-08T18:26:03+01:00

They are indeed almost too pretty to toss in the glass bin. It is however the best option. Glass has an almost endless recycling lifecycle, so by recycling the demand for virgin raw materials will decrease. Almost 90% of all the glass is recycled. Recycling also reduces the co2 emissions.
